In 2014 Candy found a small lump in her breast and went to the doctor. She was referred to an oncologist and underwent a mammogram & ultrasound, with results detecting lumps in both breasts. A needle biopsy of her left breast ultimately confirmed the news she dreaded most, SHE HAD BREAST CANCER.
Her oncologist told her she had 2 choices: cutoff her left breast where the largest tumor was located or do a bilateral mastectomy, cutting both breasts off. Either way, she was advised she would need to follow-up with 45 days of chemotherapy.
